PRADEEP THAPLIYAL

Pradeep obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Sciences from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. He is a senior scientist in ISRO working in the field of Satellite Meteorology for over 25 years. As a visiting scientist at SSEC, University of Wisconsin, Dr. Pradeep worked on the hyperspectral sounding retrieval. In ISRO, Dr. Pradeep is a lead scientist in atmospheric parameter retrieval from INSAT-3D series of satellites, especially atmospheric profiles and sea surface temperature. He is also leading the SST retrieval activity from future Indian satellites, Oceansat-3 and GISAT. Pradeep is also leading the inter-satellite calibration activity of ISRO Indian satellites for GSICS.
