Dr. Luo is a physicist in Atomic and Molecular Physics at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. In his current role, he plays a crucial part in the analysis of instrument calibration and testing data. A significant aspect of his work is centered on developing calibration methods and performing data processing for MethaneSAT and MethaneAIR initiatives.
In 2020, Dr. Luo earned his PhD in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography from the University of Miami. He further worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University.
Dr. Luo’s research interests lie in radiative transfer modeling and remote sensing. His research primarily focuses on the sea surface temperature analysis, surface radiative budget assessment, greenhouse gas monitoring, and cryosphere study.
