Pallavi Govekar is a Remote Sensing Scientist with 7+ years of experience of preparation, verification and validation of operational sea surface temperature products. She is a Research Scientist at the Bureau of Meteorology where she develops downstream applications customised for marine and coastal industry such as generating Marine heatwave and thermal stress metrics for the Australian region. Pallavi holds a Master of Science by Research in Atmospheric Science/Monash University, Australia (2009) and PhD in Atmospheric Science/Monash University, Australia (2013). Her research interests centre around research and development of new satellite derived Sea Surface Temperature products of benefit to numerical weather prediction, coastal management, seasonal forecasting and ocean forecasting.
