Proposed DBCP–GHRRST Pilot to upgrade drifting buoys

A proposal to upgrade 50-100 existing drifting buoys in support of satellite SST retrievals and validation has been developed between DBCP and GHRSST.

the proposed project will address many issues related to the accuracy of the SST measurement made by drifters, the accuracy of the drifter location, improved temporal reporting and stronger links between the satellite SST community and the DBCP.
