Software Tools for GHRSST-PP products

The following list of no-cost data manipulation tools are useful for working with GHRSST-PP netCDF data files

GHRSST-PP standard Colour Tables for SST anaomaly maps

The colour scale below has been agreed as a standard to use when working with SST anomalies. The scale ranges between +/- 4 K in steps of 0.2 K. The top and bottom levels are reserved for >4 K and <-4 K.

An ASCII table of R, G B values corresponding to the colour bar above can be downloaded here. (Thanks to John Stark, Met Office)

The NAVO/GHRSST-PP global 1km Land Sea Mask

The NAVO/GHRSST-PP 1km land and sea mask can be found here.

Software for GDS-v1.5 L2P and L4 data files

The C4 Integrated Data System (CIDS) at the Center for Clouds Chemistry and Climate University of California, San Diego provides a useful set of routines for programmers that will create read routines for netCDF files. See http://www-c4.ucsd.edu/~cids/software/visual.html for more details.

The following software routines will read GHRSST-PP GDS-v1.6 compliant L2P and L4 data files

Software for MDB data records

The following software routines will read GHRSST-PP GDS-v1.6 compliant MDB data records

  • C code: MDB example (Not yet available)
  • FORTRAN code: MDB example (Not yet available)
  • IDL code: MDB example (Not yet available)
  • MATLAB code: MDB example (Not yet available)

Software for GDS-v1.5 HR-DDS data files

The following software routines will read GHRSST-PP GDS-v1.6 compliant HR-DDS data records

  • C code: HR-DDS example
  • FORTRAN code: HR-DDS example
  • IDL code: HR-DDS example
  • MATLAB code: HR-DDS example
