GHRSST metricasting describes the system used by GHRSST to monitor and manage production and validation metrics within the GHRSST project. Metricasters publish GHGRSST metrics as RSS feeds that can easily be subscribed to by clients that wish to monitor the performance of a GHRSST activity. GHRSST metrics are defined in the GHRSST Metrics specification available here.
Metricasting, similar in concept to datacasting, provides an approach that allows groups to
- Easily provide and subscribe to metric event feeds
- Fedarate many different Metric event feeds to provide a comprehwensive view of a production chain
- Work with user/producers wherever they may be
- Choose and keep up-to-date with specific metric feeds - changing these as required
- Make use of RSS browsers and readers off the shelf
