ERNESST–2 Meeting, Cordoba, Spain
( Last Updated: 20-07-2010 )
EUMETSAT have made available to ERNESST (http://www.ernesst.eu/) a meeting room during their forthcoming conference in Cordoba. All welcome. Those registered for the conference can simply turn up to our meeting. Anyone who wishes to be there for the day to attend the ERNESST meeting specifically can obtain access free by e-mailing Chris Merchant by Weds 1 September (to be put on a list of people to be admitted).
The ERNESST meeting period will be 14.00 to 18.30, with a break aligned with the conference structure:
Wednesday, 22 September, 14:00 h - 18:30 h, Room: Pablo de Céspedes
We propose to maximize scientific discussion rather than pack the meeting with talks. There will be a 15 minute introduction to each of the following themes for discussion:
Following each introduction, there will be discussion (i) to identify the research needs, (ii) to identify the research already committed over the next few years, (iii) thus to describe areas of lack/opportunity where collaborations between members could be most fruitful, and (iv) to identify some-one to catalyze new collaborations/activity in each area. We recognize that various interesting questions are not covered explicitly in these titles (lake and coastal-zone temperatures, diurnal variability analysis, ice-surface temperatures, cloud and ice classification), but these will likely emerge in the discussions. We also will take some time to agree the future running of ERNESST, structure of sub-groups, and approach to putting the network on a funded basis
